AMOX 20%: Broad-Spectrum Antibiotic for Respiratory and Digestive Infections in Livestock
In today’s commercial livestock operations, fast and effective management of bacterial infections is critical for productivity, profitability, and animal welfare. Respiratory infections, enteritis, typhoid, and post-viral complications such as those seen in PRRS (Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome) and Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) can cripple herds and flocks if not treated promptly.
To combat these challenges, Sakan Vietnam introduces AMOX 20%—a potent, multi-action antibiotic formulation designed to treat a wide range of infectious diseases in pigs, poultry, and other livestock. Powered by a unique combination of Amoxicillin, Colistin, and Paracetamol, AMOX 20% provides quick relief from symptoms and rapid recovery across various systems.
What is AMOX 20%?
AMOX 20% is a water-soluble antibiotic powder for oral administration via drinking water or feed. It is formulated to tackle both primary bacterial infections and secondary complications arising from viral diseases like PRRS and FMD.
Composition (Per 100 g):
-
Amoxicillin: 20 g
-
Colistin: 12,500,000 IU
-
Paracetamol: 2 g
-
Lactose and Dextrose: q.s. to 100 g
This combination ensures broad-spectrum efficacy, anti-inflammatory benefits, and symptom relief—making AMOX 20% a practical and effective choice for livestock producers.
How AMOX 20% Works
Amoxicillin
A β-lactam antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is effective against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including E. coli, Salmonella, Streptococcus, and Pasteurella.
Colistin
A powerful polymyxin-class antibiotic, Colistin targets multi-drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria, especially those affecting the gastrointestinal tract. It works by disrupting bacterial membranes, causing leakage and death.
Paracetamol
Acts as an antipyretic (fever reducer) and analgesic (pain reliever) to reduce discomfort, promote feed intake, and support faster recovery during illness.
Indications: When to Use AMOX 20%
AMOX 20% is ideal for treating and preventing:
-
Respiratory diseases: Pneumonia, sinusitis, Pasteurellosis
-
Digestive tract diseases: Diarrhea (green, white, yellow, bloody stools), necrotic enteritis
-
Systemic bacterial infections: Typhoid, mastitis, metritis
-
Skin and soft tissue infections: Dermatitis, facial/head swelling
-
Secondary infections following PRRS or Foot and Mouth Disease
-
Fever, poor appetite, and lethargy associated with bacterial complications
Key Benefits of AMOX 20%
1. Dual Action Against Respiratory and Digestive Infections
The combination of Amoxicillin and Colistin provides comprehensive coverage against pathogens that affect both the lungs and intestines. Whether you’re dealing with pneumonia in pigs or enteritis in poultry, AMOX 20% tackles the root cause and restores health.
2. Faster Recovery with Symptom Relief
Thanks to the inclusion of Paracetamol, AMOX 20% not only treats the infection but also provides relief from fever and discomfort, improving animal behavior and feed intake. This leads to faster recovery, especially in young, weak, or stressed animals.
3. Supports Post-Viral Recovery
Viral diseases such as PRRS and FMD weaken the immune system and often lead to secondary bacterial infections, which can cause more harm than the virus itself. AMOX 20% offers critical support in these situations by controlling bacterial overgrowth and reducing systemic inflammation.
4. Improves Barn Hygiene and Waste Management
By effectively treating diarrhea and restoring gut balance, AMOX 20% helps normalize feces, reducing bad odors, soiling, and contamination in animal housing. This improves biosecurity, reduces labor, and supports healthier environments.
5. Flexible and Easy to Use
AMOX 20% is designed for seamless integration into farm routines with flexible dosage via water systems or feed.
