Introduction
From October 30 to 31, 2023, Sakan Vietnam proudly hosted a delegation of experts from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) for the third reassessment (first since 2017) of its Testing Laboratory under the international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 in the pharmaceutical sector.
ISO 17025 Standard
ISO 17025 is an international standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), coordinated by the ISO Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO). It sets forth general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
Delegation’s Assessment
The expert delegation highly commended Sakan’s capabilities, testing equipment, machinery, and the technical team of the testing laboratory. Sakan’s facility serves as a quality assurance and testing center for input materials, water sources, stability, aseptic conditions, antibiotic efficacy, and more, ensuring the production of high-quality Sakan products.
Global Acceptance and Compliance
For the export of veterinary drugs, the requirement for test results and calibration is accompanied by a “certificate, globally accepted certificate.” Sakan’s adoption of ISO/IEC 17025 means that test results and calibrations are eligible for the issuance of “globally accepted certificates.” Furthermore, the application of ISO/IEC 17025 enables Sakan to focus resources on improving capabilities, affirming the reliability of test results, and showcasing its competence and result reliability on the international stage in pharmaceutical testing.
Conclusion
